What costs should you expect on top of the purchase price?
The budget for a property purchase in Morocco is not limited to the price quoted by the seller.
The buyer needs to anticipate registration duties, the land registry, the administrative fee and the notary's fees, along with the VAT applying to those fees. Together they represent a significant share of the price.
Depending on the project, costs linked to renovation, technical surveys, document translation or other professional steps may be added.
Tax rules and individual situations can change and must be verified at the time of purchase, not on the basis of an article read six months earlier.
The notary remains the right person to ask for a costing adapted to the specific transaction. The calculator on this site gives an order of magnitude, not a quote.

A question, a project, a doubt?
The simplest thing is to talk it through. Ten minutes is usually enough to know whether a project holds up.
